Mission Statement

The Documentary Project promotes student study and production of documentaries on social and political issues.

History

Founded as a registered student organization in the fall semester of 2006, the Documentary Project comprised of students and faculty at Illinois State University who appreciated the social power of documentary filmmaking. This group promoted the viewing of compelling documentary films, and encouraged students to participate in the filmmaking process, with opportunities such as Film Your Issue. Currently the organization sponsors film screenings for the university public and seeks out issues that could benefit from the production of a documentary film.
